Pigging Out at Lagkaw (Bangcud, Malaybalay City)

After a long day of field work, our team went to Lagkaw to feed our hungry stomachs. Lagkaw is a roadside fastfood located along the highway of Bangcud, Malaybalay City

Lagkaw started its operation only last October 18, 2010. With its wooden cottages and open-air dining style, the place ambiance kinda remind me of D'Stable Eco Resort (Quadra) in Sumpong, Malaybalay City. The difference, however, is that in Quadra you can order food from their menu while in Lagkaw, you choose what you want to eat from their cooked food on display, "turo-turo" style.

 The semi-closed cottages.

Small open cottages.

Lagkaw's specialty is various "kambing" (goat's meat) dishes like caldereta, papaitan, adobo, paklay and sinigang.

But since we were really starving that time, we ordered one kilogram of lechon at P350.00 per kilo. Paired with two servings of rice for each of us and washed down with Manila Beer Light (35 pesos each), our stomachs sure have its fill afterward.

A  huge lechon on display.

The lechon was on the salty and fatty side so it is best dipped with vinegar and paired with lots of rice.

A snapshot from inside the cottage.
