Tanduay First 5 in Malaybalay: Concert Wrap Up

In one truly unforgettable and explosive night, five of the country's best rock bands rocked Malaybalay City in the Tanduay First Five concert last Friday, October 21, 2011. Me, my wife and my friends were among the thousands of people who trooped to the Capitol Grounds to witness the momentous occasion. The Tanduay First Five is a nationwide concert tour featuring Chicosci, Sandwich, Kamikazee, Parokya ni Edgar and Wolfgang.

Portion of the Capitol Ground was fenced and a temporary stage was set up for the performers. We arrived at the venue shortly before 7 PM. It was a good thing that security was tight at the gate as this translated to a peaceful and trouble-free concert.

The show started at around 7 PM. Chicosci opened the night amidst a short fireworks display.

Luck was on our side that night because while Chicosci performed, we were given free VIP passes by Allied Bank Malaybalay Branch Manager Louell Tortola and an executive from Tanduay whose name we failed to get (Thank you very much Sirs!!!!)

Wearing our VIP badges, we wasted no time in walking over to the VIP area. Heaven must really be on our side as we did not only got the chance to see the bands up close, there were also free and unlimited food and drinks. Whoa!!!!

Anyway, after Chicosci, Sandwich, Wolfgang, Kamikazee and Parokya ni Edgar followed next. The night's finale was an epic rendition of Parokya's "The Ordertaker" which was joined by members of Kamikazee and Chicosci.

Here are some of the photos I took during the concert. More photos and concert write-ups will be uploaded in my succeeding posts:
