Kaamulan Festival 2012: The Street Dancing Floats

Aside from the street dancing and ground presentations, participants of every Kaamulan Festival Ethnic Street Dancing Competition also vie for the Best Float award. Floats are hauling trucks adorned with ornaments and decors befitting each contingent's theme and are used to carry members of the tribal bands which provide the beats for the dancers.

During last Saturday's Street Dancing Competition (March 3, 2012) in Malaybalay City, the Best Float award was won by the Municipality of Malitbog (photo above) and was awarded with a cash prize of 50,000 pesos. Malitbog also won 1st place in the Ground Presentation and 2nd place in the Street Dancing.

Also awarded for their floats were Quezon, Valencia City and San Fernando. The three other participants were the municipalities of Kalilangan, Cabanglasan and Maramag.
