Overlooking View of Valencia City as seen from Musuan Peak


Musuan Peak is officially called Mount Musuan and is also known as Mount Calayo. It is an active volcano located in Musuan, Dologon, Maramag, Bukidnon, about 4.5 kilometers south of Valencia City. It has an elevation of 646 meters ASL and a base diameter of 3 kilometers. Musuan Peak is a favorite hiking destination because of its accessibility from the national highway.

Bukidnon Snapshots: Barangay Tubigon in Maramag


These are photos taken in Barangay Tubigon, Maramag, Bukidnon. This portion of Tubigon is located on a higher elevation and is only a few kilometers away from the national highway. But because of its road condition, this can be reached only by motorcycle or 4-wheel drive vehicles. The lands in this area are mostly planted with sugarcane.

Musuan Peak


Also known as Mt. Musuan and Mt. Kalayo, Musuan Peak  has an elevation of 646 meters above sea level. It is located in Musuan, Dologon, Maramag, Bukidnon. It is actually an active volcano which, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology, last erupted in 1866 and 1867. Because of its proximity to Central Mindanao University (CMU), it is a popular picnic and hiking place for students and teachers alike. There is an easy trail going up to the peak where one can enjoy a panoramic view of the Bukidnon's mountains, forests, vast rice and sugarcane fields and the Pulangi River.
