My First Time Inside the 403rd Infantry Brigade (Malaybalay City)

When I joined the Takbo Para sa Bayanihan run last July 23, 2011, it was also my first time to step inside the 403rd Infantry Brigade compound. It is located in Impalambong, Malaybalay City, well within the proximity of the city proper, yet I did not really got the chance to be inside the camp until this run.

A short program followed by stretching was held at the basketball court before the start of the race.

The 403rd Infantry Brigade, 4th Infantry Division of the Philippine Army is also known as the Peacemaker Brigade. It was first organized in July 15, 1973. Hence, the Takbo Para Sa Bayanihan was held as part the brigade's 38th Founding Anniversary Celebration.

The brigade's headquarters in Impalambong, Malaybalay City is officially known as Camp Osito Bahian. I observed inside the camp that there are lots of trees and the lawns are well-maintained.

The 403rd Infantry Brigade specializes in anti-guerilla operations. These are some of their guns, tanks and vehicles on display during their anniversary celebration:

This is the motto of the 403rd Infantry Brigade: "Blessed are the Peacemakers..For they shall be called the Children of God." –Matthew 5:9
